TDU Delivery Charges or simply Pass Through Charges are charges from the local electric utility (Oncor, AEP, CenterPoint, TNMP) that owns and maintains the wires, equipment, and meters used to deliver power to your house. These charges are regulated and approved by the Public Utility Commission.
On your electricity bill, sometimes these charges are separated from the energy charge and sometimes they are included in one price. Rest assured, either way these charges are always part of your bill.
Incidentally, when looking for a new electricity contract, some REPs will quote you the energy rate only. To know what your total rate will be you must add in the utility’s pass through charges. Give us a call to find out current pass through charges.
